Christopher Fulkerson

Christopher Fulkerson, 28, of Sonora, died Sunday Jan. 18, 2009.

He is survived by his father, Walter Fulkerson; one son, Justin David; and two brothers.

Opal Thompson Grissom, 80, of Sonora, passed away Sunday Jan. 18, 2009 at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown. 

She was a homemaker and a member of Jack Vanity Ministries.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Clifford “Bill” Grissom; and her parents, Walter and Ollie Heavrin Thompson. 

She is survived by three sons, Paul Hornback of Buffalo, Gary Hornback of Elizabethtown, and Kenneth Grissom of Sonora; a daughter, Marcella Young of Elizabethtown; a sister, Beatrice Logsdon of Louisville; a grandson, Troy Grissom of Elizabethtown; and two great-grandchildren, Imari and Jadon Grissom.

The funeral is at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Manakee Funeral Home in Upton.

Burial will follow in Upton Cemetery.

Visitation is 6 to 8 p.m. today and 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Nellie Irene Hart

Nellie Irene Hart, 80 of Elizabethtown, died Monday, Jan. 19, 2009 at Helmwood Health Care.

She was a native of Grayson County and a member of Elizabethtown Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Churchill Hart; her parents, Richard Lane and Lula Alice Lawson Pence; and two brothers, Mark Pence and Eddie Pence.

She is survived by two sons, George Louis Hart and Judy, and Jimmy Dale Hart and Pam, all of Elizabethtown; two daughters, Donna Kaye Barrett and Mike, and Nancy Lou Lane and Randy; two brothers, Robert Pence of Hillview, and Arthur Pence of Leitchfield; eight grandchildren, Dana Lane Fox, Michael Lane, Kent Lane, Louis Hart, Brian Hart, Emily Hart George, Kevin Hart and Angela Hart; and six great-grandchildren, Alen, Jakob, Ashleigh, Alexis, Christian and Layden.

The funeral is at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Brown Funeral Home with Brother Ray Pack officiating.

Burial will follow in New Hope Church of Christ Cemetery in Grayson County.

Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Francis Larry Nalley, 86, of Boston, formerly of Culvertown, passed away Sunday, Jan. 19, 2009 at his residence in Boston.

He was born July 8, 1922, in Culvertown, son of the late William Vincent Nalley and Mary Ruley Nalley. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Culvertown. He was an Army veteran of World War II, having served in Germany. He retired from construction after 45 years with various companies, working along Interstate 65 most of those years.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Catherine Dolores Culver Nalley; five brothers, Richard Nalley, Paul Nalley, William Nalley, Charles Nalley, and Preston Nalley; and one sister, Martha Nalley Lewis.

He is survived by one son, Joseph Carl (Sheila) Nalley of Boston; a nephew he raised like a son, Michael L. Dobson of Bardstown; a daughter, Jean (Verlon Jr.) Frazier of Boston; a half-sister, Margaret Ann Kiesler of Louisville; two grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The funeral is at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel of William R. Rust Funeral Home at 167 N. Main St. in New Haven. Burial will follow in St. Thomas Church Cemetery in Bardstown.

Visitation is from 1 to 8 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Wednesday.

William R. Rust Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
