Jesse Milton Emberton, 93, of Cecilia, died Thurs-day, March 8, 2012, at his residence.
He was a native of Tompkinsville, a member of Vertrees Baptist Church and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Since 1950 he raised Polled Shorthorn Cattle and was a past member of the Kentucky and American Shorthorn Association.
He was preceded by his wife of 70 years, Martha Alma Yokley; his parents, Ed and Pearl Turner Emberton; a grandchild, Lisa Bingham; and two great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his son, Milton J. (Peggy) Emberton of Hardinsburg; six daughters, Arlene (Marvin) Ramsey Compton of Custer, Gale (Ralph) Gilpin of Louisville, Louise (Mac) Willoughby of Hodgenville, Treva Williams of Cecilia, Lorene (Charles) Powell of Indianapolis and Londa (Mike) Owens of Land O’Lakes, Fla.; a brother, Vick Emberton of Glasgow; a sister, Velma Pursley of Glasgow; 11 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral was Saturday morning at Brown Funeral Home in Elizabethtown with Brother Ray Sinkhorn officiating. A graveside service was Saturday afternoon at Yokley Cemetery in Tompkinsville.
