Taxpayers on line for questionable loans
I was just thinking about our national debt. If our government would stop spending money on people who can’t manage their own money, we would be better off.
I just found out that a business owner who recently filed for Chapter 13 in Bankruptcy Court still could have a Small Business Administration loan on the business.
Why should our government help someone to finance a business venture when they can’t even manage their own finances?
If the venture were to fail and our government had to pay for the loan, it would be a drop in the bucket increasing our national debt. If our government stops all the little drops from going into the bucket, it would turn into saving gallons toward reducing our national debt.
Our government needs to concentrate on the small drops and not just the gallons being added to our debt obligation. Keep in mind; it only takes one more drop to overfill the bucket.

No comparisons, please
A recent piece about the War Powers Act compared President Richard Nixon to Barack Obama.
Remember, President Nixon did not get this country involved in Vietnam, it was Lyndon Johnson, who was following President John F. Kennedy’s lead.
President Nixon ran for office on the promise that he would end the conflict (war was never declared in Vietnam). Kennedy and Johnson were Democrats.
It seems that Democrats can do whatever they want and get away with it.
The difference is that when Republicans are caught doing something wrong, i.e. Nixon and Watergate, Trent Lott and some colorful language, another senator caught with a young lady, etc., they choose to do the right thing and resign.
Former President Bill Clinton and his womanizing, former Illinois Gov. Rod R. Blagojevich trying to sell Obama’s Senate seat, former Sen. John Edwards and his womanizing, Rep. Charlie Rangel and his money schemes, and countless other Democrats getting caught just continue what they were doing. They think that they are above the law.
Please, do not compare any Republican to a Democrat.
