Silas Abraham Coffman

Silas Abraham Coffman, 70, of Hodgenville, died Tuesday, July 15, 2008, at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown.

He was a retired electrician for Tampa General Hospital in Florida, a member of Severns Valley Baptist Church in Elizabethtown, an Army veteran and a member of the National Rifle Association.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Lee and Phoebe Cornelious Fields Coffman; a sister, Helen Tooley; and a brother, Raymond Coffman.

Survivors include two daughters, Judy Denise Cardenas and her husband, Tom, of Tampa, Fla., and Sandra Wethington and her husband, Ricky, of Shelbyville; two sisters, Doris Druen and her husband, Foster, of Elizabethtown and Mary Silliman and her husband, Jerry, of Louisville; five brothers, Walter Coffman of Upton, Ralph Stanley Coffman and his wife, Mary Ann, and David Coffman and his wife, Vivian, all of Louisville, Daniel Coffman and his wife, Trudy, of Tampa, Fla., and Robert Lee Coffman Jr. of Elizabethtown; three grandchildren, Tabitha Brooks, Amber Wethington and Kayla Cardenas; and his loving companion, Margie Lee of Hodgenville.

The funeral is at 1 p.m. Thursday at Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville with burial to follow in Buffalo Cemetery.

Visitation is from noon to 8 p.m. today and continues at 9 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Ruth Tabeling Keenan

Ruth Tabeling Keenan, 92, of Elizabethtown, died Monday, July 14, 2008, at Hardin Memorial Hospital.

She was a native of Breckinridge County and a member of St. James Catholic Church. She formerly worked at Fort Knox Civil Service and the Social Security Administration.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Benjamin Keenan Sr.; her parents, Charles and Susan Ida Ryan Tabeling; and three brothers and three sisters.

Survivors include a son, James Benjamin Keenan Jr. and his wife, Marie, of Stanardsville, Va.; three daughters, Jacqueline Ann Prather and her husband, Floyd, and Myrna Lois Keenan, all of Elizabethtown, and Phyllis Sharon Clark and her husband, Frank, of Clarksville, Tenn.; a grandson, James Michael Earl Keenan; and two great-grandchildren, Benjamin Michael Keenan and Nathaniel James Keenan.

The graveside service is at 11 a.m. Thursday at Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Chuck Walker officiating.

Visitation begins at 9 a.m. Thursday at Brown Funeral Home in Elizabethtown.

Allen C. Summers, 77, of Glendale, died Tuesday, July 15, 2008.

Survivors include his wife, Wanda.

Mona Claire Peerce Wood, 72, died Friday, July 11, 2008.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Margaret Vinson Peerce.

Survivors include her husband, Ronald “Woody” Wood; four daughters, Brenda Brown and Donald, Gail Carter and Scott, Rebecca Hampsten and Roy and Wanda Hastings and Robert; her father, Jerome Peerce Sr.; two brothers, Jerome Peerce Jr. and Martha and Jon Peerce and Pat; a sister, Alicia Roades and Jamie; and 11 grandchildren.

The funeral was July 13 in Albuquerque, N.M.
