Justice system must do more

Reading Sunday’s paper, I just had to write about the DUI history story. Condolences to the family of the young women but this is what I would do if I were here parents. First, I would get a good lawyer; don’t get ahead of me now. Then I would sue the last two judges that let him off. Why you ask? If the judges did their jobs they wouldn’t have let a person with six DUIs have a license or get a vehicle registered in any state. How did the county clerk give him plates and yearly stickers for it?

When are we the people going to get fed up with no one taking responsibility for their actions? It took the death of an innocent 17-year-old girl to hopefully get this drunk off the road when any of the last five judges in the two to six DUI cases let him go. If this wasn’t premeditated murder and deserving of the death penalty I hope it will be soon.

I live on a corner with a stop sign and more than 90 percent of the people run this sign. The only time they do come to a complete stop is when another car is coming the way they want to go. I had to avoid two people running red lights in the last year living here in E’town. First was at Ring Road at Walmart and of course she was on her cell phone. The second as on Dixie at the Wendy’s light near the hospital. She just literally blew across all of Dixie going toward Wendy’s. Never even looked to see who was blaring the horn at her.

I fear this is just going to get worse and never get better until we get more accountability.
