Sticking with Mitch
It’s now official; just before our celebration of the July 4 we find out that the Kentucky Democratic Party’s second choice Alison Lundergan Grimes is now their first choice, because Tennessee resident Ashley Judd turned down the offer of the Kentucky Democratic Party.
All of Kentucky knows what Sen. Mitch McConnell has done for Kentucky and the nation — saving Fort Knox and making it the Army’s personnel center, opposing Obama’s war on coal and the disaster known as Obamacare, and a multitude of accomplishments for Kentucky and America.
What does Alison Lundergan Grimes bring to the field besides two grandmothers who made a good ad for her when she ran for Kentucky secretary of state?
You may recall her first act as Kentucky secretary of state according to her own hand was to make her primary contributors Kentucky Colonels when she wrote to them on state stationary and presumably at state expense (See Courier-Journal, March 1, 2012).
It looks like she learned her ethics (or lack thereof) from her dad, former Kentucky Democratic Chairman Jerry Lundergan, who was convicted of violating ethics laws (See The Kentucky Democrat, Jan. 15, 2005).
I’ll stick with Mitch, an experienced statesman, and avoid another liberal cut from Obama cloth.
