Vivian Leota George

Vivian Brizendine George, 97, of Rineyville, died Monday, July 21, 2008, in Elizabethtown.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Betty J. and Edwin “Ed” Snyder of Rineyville.

Arrangements are incomplete at Nelson-Edelen-Bennett Funeral Home in Radcliff.

Daisy Belle Jones

Daisy Belle Jones, 95, of Eastview, died Sunday, July 20, 2008, at her residence.

She was a native of Hardin County and was a member of Eastview Wesleyan Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Hanson “Hank” Jones; her parents, Carr Neal and Lucinda McDaniel Jeffries; three sons, Elvin Jones, Louie Jones and Harold Jones; four brothers, Edward Jeffries, Earl Jeffries, Carl Jeffries Jr. and Wilbur Jeffries; and a sister, Pearl Williams.

She is survived by two sons, Norman Jones and Marlene and Mike Jones and Sandra, all of Cecilia; three daughters, Jeanette Taber and Carolyn Highbaugh and Tooter, all of Elizabethtown, and Margaret Stillwell and Bruce of Eastview; a sister, Mary Shouse of Elizabethtown; 19 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.

The funeral is at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Brown Funeral Home in Elizabethtown with the Rev. James Wolfe and the Rev. Dana Beland officiating. Burial will follow in Meeting Creek Cemetery in Eastview.

Visitation is from 2:30 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

James Michael Sarver, 59, of Cecilia, died Monday, July 21, 2008, at Hardin Memorial Hospital.

Survivors include his wife, Nancy Sarver.

Arrangements are incomplete at Brown Funeral Home in Elizabethtown.

  Francis A. 'Frank' Thomas

Francis “Frank” A. Thomas, 84, of Louisville, originally of Glendale, passed away Monday, July 21, 2008, at the Nazareth Home.

Frank served as a flight engineer in the Air Force during World War II and the Korean War. Later he relocated to Louisville and worked as a U.S. geological surveyor before working as an electrician with the IBEW local No. 369 from which he retired after 31 years. He also was a member of the Zachary Taylor Post of the American Legion, the VFW No. 1170 in Middletown, American Turners, Moose Lodge No. 5, W.O.W. and St. Francis of Rome Catholic Church where he was a 51-year member.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 50 years, Mary Lee Grunder Thomas; his parents, James “Jim” and Nora Thomas; and brothers, Orville and Wilbur Thomas.

Survivors include his daughters, Carol Eichler and Gail Deye and Tony; a sister, Jane Boone and Bobby; grandchildren, Christy Baugh and Danny, Michael Eichler and Sarah, Elizabeth, Emma, and Jackson Deye; and great-grandchild, Davis Baugh.

The funeral Mass is at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Francis of Rome, 2119 Payne St., Louisville, with burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery.

Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Ratterman Funeral Home, 3711 Lexington Road, Louisville.
