Keep it clean

Thanks to the writer of the July 14 letter pointing out the danger of freshly cut grass on the roadway. It becomes even more slick when rain falls on the cuttings.

Another serious danger to all riders and drivers is loose gravel that washes out or is dragged onto the roadway. When that happens at my place, I get a broom — a push broom works best — and sweep it back to where it belongs.

If individuals are not responsible or caring enough to voluntarily take care of these safety measures perhaps a law is necessary, sad to say.
