CECILIA Irene Dodson, 862-3808 We were thankful for the ½ inch of rain we had the past week, as I write this, (Tuesday), but we are greatly in need of much more. TRIP. Naomi Ready, Janice Fields and Jane Hughes (sisters) took a short vacation last week to North Carolina, where they visited the Biltmore House at Ashville, N.C. The home of the noted Billy and Franklin Graham, known as the Cove, is located near Ashville, GRADUATIONS. His wife, Brandy, who has a degree in nursing, is also affiliated with the military. Debbie Butler gave a high school graduation party Saturday afternoon for her son, J.D. Evrard, at the home of her Aunt Lolla and Uncle Mack Morgan. J.D. received many useful gifts that he can use as he goes to college at Western Kentucky University this fall. He was a part of the Central Hardin Band and will continue in band at college. He also has been very active in the JHHS Youth Theatre. SYMPATHY. Our condolences to the family of Eddie Davis, who passed away Saturday. Also our sympathies to Dale Lyons and all the family upon the passing of his mother Sunday morning. And to all others grieving the passing of loved ones. THOUGHT FOR THE DAY. “A smile is a curve that can set things straight.” HELPFUL HINT. For those pesky ants. Sprinkle cornmeal in their run, they eat it, can’t digest it and it kills them. This could take a while, but is nonpoisonous and safe for pets and children. LAUGH LINE. The peacemaking meeting scheduled for today has been canceled due to a conflict. SUBMIT YOUR NEWS. Thanks for giving me your news items.
