WHITE MILLS

CHURCH NEWS. Center Point Baptist Church revival has closed. Brother Bethel Miller was the evangelist who helped Pastor Brother Robert Jewell in the revival. Large crowds attended and the revival closed Sunday night. Everyone present at the Sunday morning service who was 70 years old and older stood in the altar while the choir sang, led by Brother Tim Riggs with Marjorie Riggs at the piano. All those being honored spoke briefly. Vernon and Lena Vinson and Distie Miller were missed. Vernon is at home recovering from back surgery and Distie also has had surgery. I was pleased to be one of the 70 and older members to be honored. This was very touching. There were a number of visitors who attended the revival. I was glad to see Mr. and Mrs. Danny Booker and their family at the revival. They are my neighbors. FATHER’S DAY. Happy belated Father’s Day on Sunday. I hope all fathers were honored. Father’s Day was observed at the home of Elnoah and Kathy Gragson with Kathy cooking the delicious meal as usual. Those attending were Nick, Marsha, Conner, Logan and Sydney Thompson, Chris, Lynn, Gavan Lee and Zack Young and myself. James and Loretta Johnson came by and visited and brought me home. Rhonda Honaker, daughter of Mary Jo and Roger Honaker, said they enjoyed a trip to the lake to celebrate Father’s Day and her mother’s birthday and ate out. BIRTHDAY WISHES. Happy belated birthday to Mary Jo Honaker on June 12; and to Tina Honaker on June 4. Happy birthday to Julia Thompson on June 26. Rhonda sent get-well wishes to the Dover baby, Frances Vanardsdale and Suzanne Patterson. GET-WELL WISHES. Get-well wishes to all who are ill and thanks to everyone who sent me the beautiful sympathy cards. ANNIVERSARY. Elnoah and Kathy Gragson celebrated their 32nd wedding anniversary by touring a number of places in Cave City. GARDEN NEWS. I have picked my first ripe tomato from my garden and enjoyed it for lunch, but it will be quite a while before I have more from the garden. WHITE MILLS CIVIC LEAGUE.
