Let’s look out for each other

I write this with a broken heart as I think of the Higdon family and their recent loss. The burglary that occurred at their home as they were at their son’s funeral is unthinkable in our community, and yet it happened.

It happened here, where we do not give a thought to such things, here where we are disgusted to hear of such a thing. This could be and should be our wake-up call — a call to action to keep this from becoming the usual and expected occurrence in our county.
