Western Kentucky during 1811-1815 is the setting for “Widder’s Landing,” a novel by a Kentucky author who will hold a book signing Saturday at Barnes & Noble Booksellers in Elizabethtown.
Author Eddie Price will sign first edition copies on his historical novel from 1 to 4 p.m. at the book store.
Published by Acclaim Press in September, “Widder’s Landing” is set during Kentucky’s post pioneer period and the War of 1812. The story concerns a young gunsmith who arrives at the river bottoms of Breckinridge County from Pennsylvania and learns to farm, finds romance and discovers self-respect.
Now heading into its third printing, “Widder’s Landing” received the National Daughters of 1812’s Spirit of 1812 Award. The award was presented by the Michigan Daughters of 1812.
Additionally, Price, a retired Hancock County High School and Owensboro Community College teacher, developed a new program for the 2013-2014 Kentucky Humanities Speakers’ Bureau called “The Long Hard Road to Publication, and the Harder Road Beyond!”
