LEXINGTON — Kentucky basketball coach Billy Gillispie added a fourth player to his 2008 signee class on Wednesday as junior college transfer Josh Harrellson signed a national letter of intent to play for the Wildcats. The 6-foot-9 sophomore averaged 14.8 points and eight rebounds per game last season at Southwestern Illinois College after averaging 18.1 points, 11 rebounds and 3.4 blocks per game as a senior at St. Charles High School in St. Louis, Mo. “We’re extremely happy to have Josh become a part of our basketball family,” said Gillispie. “He’s a guy who continues to improve and will fill a need for us next year. My excitement is growing about the prospect of next year’s team.” Harrellson earned several accolades as a freshman, while helping to lead the Blue Storm to an appearance to a Region XXIV Championship. He was named to the All-Region team and was named a First Team All-Great Rivers Athletic Conference performer. “Josh has a ton of potential and possesses a great basketball IQ,” Gillispie said. “One of the most appealing things about him is that he has three years left coming out of junior college.” Harrellson joins Kentucky’s signee class which already includes Kevin Galloway (Sacramento, Calif.), DeAndre Liggins (Chicago) and Darius Miller (Maysville).
