Kettle program falls short of goal

Bell ringers staff kettles to collect $57,000

By Jeff D'Alessio

Hundreds of volunteers who braved cold and wet conditions at store locations around Hardin County helped the Salvation Army Kettle program collect about $57,000 through its bell ringer campaign.
That total still was short of the $65,000 goal the agency set.
“We’re still very pleased with what was collected,’’ said local Salvation Army Director Lt. Marie Inmon. “We will use the funds we have collected throughout the year to help people with rent and utility costs.’’
