LaRue County locks up top seed in 18th District

MUNFORDVILLE — The visiting LaRue County Hawks (17-5 overall, 6-0 18th District) secured the No. 1 seed in the upcoming 18th District Tournament with an 11-5 win over district rival Hart County on Wednesday. Senior Aaron Mayfield doubled, singled twice, stole four bases, scored three runs and drove in a run, while junior Tyler Hornback singled twice, scored twice, stole two bases and had two RBIs. Senior Alan Vass singled and drove in two runs and senior Curtis Cox singled, scored twice and drove in a run. Cox also stole three bases, setting a new single-season school record with 35 steals.
