The LaRue County School System received an award that Superintendent Sam Sanders said is a marker of how far the district has progressed in shoring up its achievement gap.
The district was awarded the Dr. Johnnie Grissom Award this year by the Kentucky Department of Education, an award created in honor of longtime KDE employee Johnnie Grissom. Grissom was an associate commissioner and former teacher of special needs and gifted students in North Carolina.
