LaRue, NHHS take firsts in band quarterfinals

LaRue County High School and North Hardin High School took the top prize in their respective quarterfinal competitions in the Kentucky Music Educators Association State Marching Band Competition over the weekend. John Hardin and Central Hardin each placed in the top three.

LaRue County placed first in the Class AA East Quarterfinals at Bourbon County High School in Paris. North Hardin took first place in the Class AAAAA West Quarterfinals at Muhlenberg County in Greenville.

Central Hardin followed in second place in Greenville.

John Hardin placed third in the Class AAAA West Quarterfinals at the Stadium of Champions in Hopkinsville.

Elizabethtown placed seventh in the Class AAA West Quarterfinals at Hart County in Munfordville.

The state semifinals are Saturday. LaRue County competes at 2:15 p.m. CDT at Greenwood High School in Bowling Green.

Elizabethtown competes at 11:30 a.m. CDT at Allen County-Scottsville High School in Scottsville.

John Hardin takes the field at 2:30 p.m. central time at Barren County High School in Glasgow.

Central and North compete at 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. CDT at Houchens Industries-L.T. Smith Stadium at Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green.
