If the restaurant tax is such a hardship on the citizens of Elizabethtown, why are our restaurants always full with long waiting lines? Seems to me if the tax is taking away money from the rent, utilities, etc., these folks should be eating at home. Our restaurant parking lots are always full of out-of-state and out of county cars. We all are aware of how many travelers stop in Elizabethtown.
I believe Messrs. Atcher, Bennett and Wyatt are creating the “Ax the tax” platform in hopes of being elected. We have many other taxes, gentlemen, are you attacking them, too? Just look at any of your utility, cable, telephone and other bills. Count the taxes we are paying. It is a part of the American way of life.
Let it rest!
