Library to host a Pulitzer Prize-nominated author

ELIZABETHTOWN — Pulitzer Prize-nominated author Lester V. Horwitz will speak at the Hardin County Public Library at 7 p.m. today.

Horwitz was nominated for his book, “The Longest Raid of the Civil War,” which tells the story of Kentucky Confederate Gen. John Hunt Morgan’s raid through Kentucky, Indiana and Ohio in 1863.

Horwitz found hundreds of true stories and collected more than 200 historic photos for the book, which has been adapted into a musical titled “The Rebels Are Coming!”
