ISSUE: E’town councilman’s outstanding liens
OUR VIEW: Pay up and move forward
About four months ago, Elizabethtown City Council adopted a lien amnesty program, looking to unload some items from the city’s books and provide relief for residents who couldn’t pay. Under the new policy, the city can waive lien less than $500 on property that has been maintained without violations for five years or longer.
