Lions Club honors Sara Puckett

At the Nov. 13 meeting of the Elizabethtown Lions Club, Lion Al Mather presented the club’s Elizabethtown High school Student of the Month, Sara Puckett. Sara’s accomplishments include playing varsity soccer, and participating in this year’s district and regional championship team. Sara is Beta Club president, Spanish Club vice-president, a member of the student council, FCA, Friends of Rachel and the Green Club. She is supply secretary of the pep club and participates in the Big Brothers Big Sisters program and also was a Kentucky Governor’s Scholar Program participant. Other community work includes volunteering with the Salvation Army, Helping Hand of Hope, Panther Place and the after school care program. She has a 4.0 grade-point average and plans to attend the University of Alabama, majoring in chemistry or biology, to pursue a medical degree with the goal of becoming a doctor. She is pictured with her mother, Angie Puckett, and her grandmother, Josephine Puckett.
