ELIZABETHTOWN — Hardin District Court Judge John Simcoe confirmed Thursday that members of the Hardin County Bar Association will “step up to the plate” and represent people detained on mental inquest warrants.
The move follows Elizabethtown’s Office of the Department of Public Advocacy’s reduction in services following state budget cuts that prompted Kentucky Public Advocate Ernie Lewis to stop representing two groups of indigent defendants.
