Bill Rissel, president and chief executive officer of Fort Know Federal Credit Union, said in a statement that Schaffner was a driving force in the founding and formative years of the credit union.

“The Fort Knox FCU would not exist today without Bob’s hard work and tireless efforts,” he said. “We grieve his loss.”
