ELIZABETHTOWN – A Louisville man died shortly after 5 p.m. Wednesday when the truck he was driving toward Bardstown on U.S. 62 from Elizabethtown collided with a FedEx box truck.
According to Hardin County Coroner Dr. William Lee, Bryan Ward, 31, was eastbound on U.S. 62 (Bardstown Road) when, after crossing the center line, his Ford Ranger pickup hit the oncoming FedEx truck.
The collision occurred in the 3700 block of Bardstown Road, about 3 miles east of Elizabethtown.
Lee said he was unsure what brought Ward into Hardin County as the man’s operator’s license showed a Concord Drive address, near University of Louisville’s campus in central Louisville.
A preliminary investigation showed no signs of alcohol or drug usage, Lee said.
The driver of the FedEx vehicle suffered minor injuries.
