A 17-year-old from Louisville was arrested Monday in Meade County after he led police on a 27-mile pursuit through Jefferson, Meade and Hardin counties.

Around 12:38 p.m. Monday, Kentucky State Police Post 4 in Elizabethtown received a request to assist Louisville Metro Police Department in pursuit of a stolen 1991 Jeep Cherokee, according to a news release from the post.

The pursuit began on Gene Snyder Freeway and was approaching West Point on U.S. 31W when KSP was contacted, police said.

At 12:45 p.m. KSP was asked to take the lead in the pursuit. In Meade County, state police units were able to box in the stolen vehicle and slow the Cherokee to a stop, according to the release.

There were no injuries reported and the teen was turned over to LMPD, police said.
