For the third time in five years, Lydia Gumm and April Emerson faced off for the championship in the Women’s Kentucky State Amateur.
This time, the North Hardin High School graduate won the title. Playing this morning at Lakeside Golf Course in Lexington, Gumm won the match 4 and 3.
In both 2010 and 2011, Emerson defeated Gumm for the State Am title.
Gumm, a sophomore at Florida State University, reached the title match by winning twice on Thursday — 2 and 1 over Kaitlyn Riley and a 20-hole victory over Ellen Kehoe.
