Mabel Gritton Shewmaker

Mabel Gritton Shewmaker, 93, formerly of Harrodsburg, widow of Reid Shewmaker, died Friday, April 20, 2012, in Elizabethtown.

Born April 3, 1919, in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late Floyd and Crecia Stratton Gritton. She was retired from the Mercer County Health Department and a member of Harrodsburg Christian Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Susan S. (Billy) Willian; two granddaughters, Angela (Hal) Bender and Emily (Dan) Robbins; and three great-granddaughters, Hailey, Hannah and Harper Robbins, all of Elizabethtown.

The funeral is at 11 a.m. Monday, April 23, at Ransdell Funeral Chapel in Harrodsburg with burial in Springhill Cemetery in Harrodsburg.

Visitation is from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday and continues at 8 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
