A man shot outside a Five Star Food Mart last month has died.

Su Hong Springer, 53, of Murfreesboro, Tenn., died at 4:52 a.m. Monday, according to Elizabethtown Police Department spokesman Virgil Willoughby.
Police say road rage along Interstate 65 spurred the shooting April 17.

Witnesses said Springer's Dodge Caravan was tailgating another vehicle in the northbound lane of I-65 near Glendale. Both vehicles pulled off the interstate to buy gasoline when the shooting happened at the food mart at 824 E. Dixie Ave., Elizabethtown.

Surveillance video indicated that Springer's vehicle drove into the parking lot, the passenger side window came down as it pulled along side a Nissan Rogue.

A handgun is reported as being pointed at the Rogue from within the Caravan, according to an EPD news release.

Shots were fired from the Rogue toward the Caravan striking Springer once, according to police.

Information regarding the shooting has been sent to the Hardin County grand jury to determine whether the shooter, Howard K. Wright, 24, of Memphis, Tenn., will be charged.
