Patricia Anne Bonsall

Patricia Anne Bonsall, 63, of Elizabethtown, died Saturday, March 28, 2009, at her home.

She retired after 23 years as a Wal-Mart associate.  Patricia received the Wal-Mart Heroes award and was an honorable Kentucky Colonel. She also worked as a publicist for Arkansas State University in Jonesboro.

She is survived by her husband, retired Command Sgt. Maj. Richard T Bonsall of Elizabethtown; a son, Carl Prince of Arkansas; three daughters, Brenda Baker of Tennessee, Karen Littlejohn of Indiana and Kimberly Dotson of Arkansas; two sisters, Mary Ellen Normanden of Massachusetts and Colleene Valencia of California; a brother, Bob Riley of Kentucky; 15 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 2, 2009, at Nelson-Edelen-Bennett Funeral Home in Radcliff with the Rev. Ron Burgess officiating. Burial will be at a later date.  

Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. Thursday until service time.

Lawrence William Carroll

Lawrence William Carroll, 69, of Radcliff, died Saturday, March 28, 2009, at North Hardin Health and Rehabilitation Center in Radcliff.

Sgt. Maj. Carroll retired from the U.S. Army, was a veteran of the Vietnam War, and was a two-time recipient of the Purple Heart; he also received the Legion of Merit award. He retired from civil service work at Fort Knox. Larry was a member of the Military Order of Purple Hearts, the Retired Sergeant Majors Association, Camp Knox Masonic Lodge No. 919, AUSA and NARF.

He is survived by his wife, Denise Carroll of Radcliff; a daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly and Michael Spurgis of Dearborn Heights, Mich.; a sister and brother-in-law, Sue and Paul Swimm of Monticello, Minn.; three grandchildren, Breanne, Taylor and Hailey Spurgis; several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Carleen Clarke of Maryville, Tenn., William and Denise Bennett of Mount Washington, Mich., and Keith Bennett of Dearborn Heights, Mich.; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service is at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 2, 2009, at Nelson-Edelen-Bennett Funeral Home in Radcliff with the Rev. Chuck Walker officiating. Burial is in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery-Central in Radcliff with military honors.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and after 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. There is a Masonic service at 7 p.m., followed by a MOPH service Wednesday at the funeral home.

Michael Edward Hardee, 51, of Hodgenville, died Monday, March 30, 2009, at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown.

Survivors include his mother, Dorothy Hardee, and a brother, Mark Allen Hardee.

Cremation was chosen with a memorial service to be held at a later date.

Barbara Faye Lee, 71, of Elizabethtown, died Monday, March 30, 2009, at Norton Suburban Hospital in Louisville.

She was a Hardin County native and was a cook for the Hardin County Schools Board of Education.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Marie (Helm) Wells; a brother, Charles Edward Sherrard; and a sister, Pamela Sue Sherrard.

She is survived by her spouse, George H. Lee Sr. of Elizabethtown; a son, George H. (Rebecca) Lee Jr. of Somerset; three daughters, Sandra Faye (David W.) Hayes, Wanda Kay Barry and Debora Gay (Kevin) Hill, all of Elizabethtown; three sisters, Carolyn (Tommy) Duncan of Eastview, Ann (Don) Filyaw of Elizabethtown and Delores (Don) Swift of Rineyville; two brothers, Joseph (Vickie) Sherrard of Florida and Jerry (Elaine) Sherrard of Stephensburg; five grandsons, Douglas (Marsha) Wise, Michael Barry, George H. Hill III, Zackary Lee and Kevin Hill Jr.; four granddaughters, Amanda (Jarrett) Kirkpatrick, Santana (Andrew) Sanders, Tabitha Hill and Hannah Lee; a great-granddaughter, Lilynn Sanders; and two great-grandsons, Preston Kirkpatrick and Andrew Sanders Jr.

Funeral services are at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 2, 2009, at Manakee Funeral Home in Elizabethtown with the Rev. Scott Kerr officiating. Burial is in Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens.

Visitation is from noon to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 1, 2009, and from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday at Manakee Funeral Home in Elizabethtown.

Linda Sue MacLennan

Linda Sue MacLennan, 57, of Brandenburg, died Sunday, March 29, 2009, at University Hospital in Louisville.

Survivors include her husband, William “Bill” H. MacLennan Jr.; and two sons, Mark MacLennan and Joe MacLennan.

Cremation was chosen.

A memorial service is at 3 p.m. today at Bruington-Jenkins-Sturgeon Funeral Home in Brandenburg.

Visitation is from 1 to 3 p.m. today at the funeral home.
