Mary L. Pruitt

Mary L. Pruitt, 79, of Elizabethtown, passed away Thursday, Feb. 2, 2012, at her residence.

She was born Feb. 17, 1932, and was a daycare worker at Grace Heartland Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, P.W. “Doc” Pruitt; her parents, Leonard and Mable Beatty Drury; a sister, Deloris Burkhead; a niece, Diane Drury; and a nephew, Michael Drury.

She is survived by a daughter, Ruth Ann Preston of Elizabethtown; two grandsons, Jonathan Pruitt and Bryan Saltsman, both of Leitchfield; five granddaughters, Amanda Tippins of New York, Lana Gordon and Dorinda Sutton, both of Georgia, and Jacqueline Preston and Angela Preston, both of Illinois; a brother, Martin Drury of Louisville; and three special friends, Robin Cook, Barbara Tilford and Geneva Pawley.

The funeral was Sunday, Feb. 5, at St. Paul Catholic Church in Leitchfield with the Rev. Robert Drury officiating. Burial was in St. Paul Cemetery.

Rogers-Oller Funeral Home in Clarkson handled arrangements.
