Joseph ‘Billy’ Ammons

Joseph “Billy” Ammons, 66, died Tuesday, May 5, 2009.

The funeral is at noon EDT Friday at House of Prayer Church in Custer.

Visitation is from 7 to 9 p.m. EDT today at Alexander Funeral Home in Irvington.


 Rev. Timothy S. Chamberlain

The Rev. Timothy S. Chamberlain, 87, of Nashville, Tenn., formerly of Munfordville, died Friday, May 1, 2009, at his residence.

Survivors include his wife, Doris Cox Chamberlain; and a son, Mitchell Edward Chamberlain.

A memorial service is at 2 p.m. CDT Saturday at Munfordville United Methodist Church with interment in Fairview Cemetery in Bowling Green.

Visitation is from noon until 2 p.m. CDT Saturday at the church.

Brooks Funeral Home in Munfordville is in charge of arrangements.

Estelle Clark

Estelle Clark, a resident of Bonnieville, passed away at 11:18 a.m. Wednesday, May 6, 2009, at her home.

She was a daughter of the late Maxey Bostic and Lela Hodges Bostic and the wife of the late Roscoe Clark. Mrs. Clark owned the Town and Country Dress Shop in Elizabethtown and she was a member of Campground United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her sister, Jane Bostic Clauson of Bonnieville; a niece, Janice Craighead and Ronald; two nephews, John Bennett and Bonnie and Mike Clauson and Becky, and Paula, widow of the late Don Corbett, also a nephew; four great-nieces; three great-nephews; four great-great-nieces; and five great-great-nephews.

She also was preceded in death by three sisters, Thelma Bennett, Nora Corbett and Cora Burns.

Funeral services for Estelle Clark are at 11 a.m. CDT Saturday at Campground United Methodist Church with burial in Sonora Cemetery.

Visitation is from 3 to 8 p.m. CDT Friday at Sego Funeral Home in Munfordville and after 9:30 a.m. CDT Saturday at Campground United Methodist Church.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to Campground United Methodist Church.

    Virgil Reed

Virgil Reed, 80, of Elizabethtown, died Tuesday, May 5, 2009, at his residence.

He was a native of Middletown, Ohio, and a retired plumber.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Paris and Amanda Sons Reed; a son, Robert Wayland Reed; four brothers, William, Roy, Isaac and James Reed; two sisters, Stanley Campbell and Laura Howell; and a granddaughter, Angela Keplinger.

He is survived by his wife, Neomia Martin Reed of Elizabethtown; a daughter, Judy and James Keplinger of Elizabethtown; five sons, Stephen D. Reed and Rose of Rineyville, and Virgil Bradley Reed and Linda, Paul Dean Reed and Debbie, William Todd Reed and Randall Allan Reed, all of Elizabethtown; 14 grandchildren, two stepgrandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; seven stepgreat-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

His funeral is at noon Friday at Brown Funeral Home in Elizabethtown with Pastor David Campbell officiating. Burial will follow in Jenkins Cemetery.

Visitation is from 4:30 to 8 p.m. today and continues after 9 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Hal G. Skaggs, 84, of Hodgenville, died Tuesday, May 5, 2009, at Bluegrass Assisted Living in Elizabethtown.

He is survived by a daughter, Brenda Skaggs-Smith; and a son, Roy Skaggs.

The funeral is at 2 p.m. Friday at Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville. Burial will follow in Red Hill Cemetery.

Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. today and continues after 9 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
