Elizabeth Ann Gerton
Elizabeth Ann Gerton, 66, of Louisville, formerly of Hodgenville, died Thursday, May 8, 2008, at the Hosparus Inpatient Unit in Louisville.
Arrangements are incomplete at Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville.
Clarence ‘Don’ Hicks
Clarence “Don” Hicks, 70, of Radcliff, died Friday, April 18, 2008, at his home.
He was a member of the Moose Lodge in Chicago.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia V. Hicks; four sons, Keith Hicks of Spanaway, Wash., Scott Hicks of Port Charlotte, Fla., and Christopher Hicks and Jeffery Coffman, both of Radcliff; three daughters, Tammie Coffman of Gary, Ind., Robin Smolka of Rockford, Ill., and Kimberly Ozment of Graham, Wash.; 15 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
The memorial service is at 2 p.m. Saturday at Nelson-Edelen-Bennett Funeral Home in Radcliff with his grandson, Chad Hicks, officiating.
Visitation begins at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Jack David Lloyd
Jack David Lloyd, 79, Elizabethtown, died Tuesday, May 6, 2008, at Baptist Hospital East in Louisville.
He was an Army veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He was a life member of both the VFW Post 10479 and American Legion Post 113. He retired from General Electric after 28 years and from Collis after 12½ years. He was a 32nd Degree Mason of Masonic Lodge No. 281. He was a good man, who will be sorely missed.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia Lloyd; three sons, Ronald Carter of Boston and Seth Carter and Michael Carter, both of Elizabethtown; three daughters, Lorette Coleman of Louisville, Jennifer Carter of Shreveport, La., and Becky Lloyd of Elizabethtown; and four grandchildren.
A memorial service is at 2 p.m. Monday at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery-Central in Radcliff.
Grover Lee Sallee
Grover Lee Sallee, 77, of White Mills, died Wednesday, May 7, 2008, at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown.
He was retired from civil service and was a member of White Mills Baptist Church. He was an avid supporter of the Crusade for Children. Grover was known far and wide for his famous BBQ Chicken. He was a dedicated member of the White Mills Volunteer Fire Department from Aug. 1, 1981 to July 1, 2005 and he was an honorary member of the fire department since then. A pavilion was built and dedicated in honor of Grover at the fire house.
He was preceded in death by a son, Tim Sallee; a daughter, Nita Carol Sallee; his parents, Granville and Mamie Richardson Sallee; and a sister Edna Mae Sallee.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Betty Hart Sallee; two sons, Justin Sallee and Malinda and Bobby Sallee, all of White Mills; a grandson, Morgan Sallee and Cassie; a great-granddaughter, Lilly Sallee; a brother, Gary Lane Sallee and Elaine of White Mills; three sisters, Catherine Priddy, Louise Williams and Shirley Pence and Wilbur, all of White Mills; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral is at 11 a.m. Saturday at Manakee Funeral Home in Sonora, with the Rev. Bruce Underhill officiating. Burial will be in Sonora Cemetery.
Visitation is from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. today and continues from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
