Mayor to discuss road diet study with state

-A A +A
By Marty Finley

The state is giving some consideration to a road diet concept in downtown Elizabethtown.

Mayor Tim Walker plans to meet  Friday with state transportation officials to learn details of a new road study the state has completed that could reduce lanes along U.S. 31W between St. John Road and Public Square.

The road diet concept proposed in the past would cut the driving lanes to three on that portion of U.S. 31W. In addition to a center turn lane, it could make room for on-street parking downtown.
