The Meade County Sheriff's Office issued a warning about bogus $100 bills being circulated in the community.

The fake money clearly is labeled “for motion picture use only” but closely resembles U.S. currency and carries an image of Benjamin Franklin similar to that on true bills. The sheriff’s office says “at a quick glance they could easily be mistaken as an actual $100 bill.”

Authorities believe the counterfeit bills are being passed in the area and advise businesses and individuals to be particularly attentive when accepting big bills. Anyone who comes into contact with the fake cash is asked to call their local police department.
