A local army wife and author will be discussing her experiences Saturday at Barnes & Noble in Elizabethtown.
Michelle Cuthrell has been writing about life on the home front since her husband’s first deployment in 2005, according to her website. While the family was stationed in Alaska she wrote a column for her regional and army newspapers called “Until They Come Home.”
She compiled her columns and experiences into a book called “Behind the Blue-Star Banner.” It documents her 16-month journey until her husband’s return from deployment and the lessons she learned about service and sacrifice.
Cuthrell lives in Vine Grove while her husband is serving at Fort Knox. She is editor in chief of Good Catch Publishing. Her articles and columns have appeared in “Operation Home Front” online magazine, the “Army Times” and “Military Spouse Magazine.”
The discussion at Barnes & Noble is titled “I’m a Military Wife — What’s Your Super Power” and promises a ladies night out with lattes, laughter and deployment lessons, according to a press release. It begins at 6 p.m.
The free event is tailored to military spouses.
After the discussion, Cuthrell will sign copies of her book.
