A proposed development plan for a Meijer supercenter on Ring Road cleared the Elizabethtown Planning Commission with a unanimous vote Tuesday.
Company representatives worked out an agreement with developer Tim Aulbach concerning possible uses for adjacent property and now are ready to move forward with plans to build on Ring Road in Elizabethtown on land near Heartland Elementary School.
In addition to its 190,000-square-foot grocery and general merchandise superstore, the company also plans to operate a gasoline station on the property.
“We’re very much looking forward to coming to Elizabethtown,” said Cris Jones, real estate manager for the Michigan-based retailer.
Objections raised by the planning staff also were rectified after the plan was tabled at the commission’s July meeting.
