Memorial United Methodist Youth volunteer at Warm Blessings

-A A +A

The Memorial United Methodist Youth Group, along with parents and youth leader Dewey Cruze, recently spent an evening volunteering at Warm Blessings Soup Kitchen. Members served a meal to more than 70 patrons, washed dishes, cleaned tables, swept, mopped, ran the sweeper and emptied trash.

According to Linda Funk, executive director, "There were 25 volunteers cooking in teams of three, approximately 150 volunteers serving and cleaning up, eight van drivers, and 27 volunteers delivering meals to seniors during the course of a months time at Warm Blessings." Funk said volunteers are the driving force at the kitchen, where the focus is to offer assistance to people struggling with many needs.
