The News-Enterprise LOUISVILLE — Former North Hardin High School and Western Kentucky University standout Troy Hawkins carded a 68 on Tuesday to enter today’s 18-hole round just two shots off the lead at the 156-player Fifth Third Bank/Callaway Golf Kentucky Open at the par-72 Audubon Country Club. Louisville’s Cory Kaufman leads with a 66, while Goshen’s Justin Thomas is in second at 67 and Hawkins is in a three-way tie for third with Louisville’s Kelly Maxwell and Robby Shaw. Former John Hardin standout and current Louisville competitor Karsten Clements (71) is in an 11-way tie for 19th place, while Hodgenville’s Steve Cox (75) is in a 17-way tie for 81st, Hodgenville’s Cory Cox (76) is in eight-way tie for 98th, Elizabethtown’s Rodney Chancey (77) is in a 12-way tie for 106th, Elizabethtown’s Andrew Flynn (78) in an 11-way tie for 118th, Elizabethtown’s Brandon Young (79) and former Elizabethtown star Josh Crutcher (79) are in a nine-way tie for 129th and Fort Knox’s Clyde Hill (81) is in a six-way tie for 114th. After today’s round, the field will be cut to 70 (ties included) for a final 18-hole round Thursday.
