Former state representative will run against Jacob Pearman

By Gina Clear

In an announcement Friday, Mike Weaver shared his intention to run for Radcliff mayor with a group gathered at Colvin Community Center.

Weaver, a retired U.S. Army colonel and former state representative, said his interest in the position peaked after reading a story about Jacob Pearman filing to run for the city’s top office in The News-Enterprise.

Weaver cited his experience with various boards and committees, including his positions on the North Hardin Economic Development Authority and Retiree Council to the Commanding General of Fort Knox, and his relationships with commanding officers on the military base, several players in Frankfort and military retirees as a strong background to keep building on Mayor J.J. Duvall’s work.

“I think there’s a lot more to do,” Weaver said. “If you trust me and support me, I think I have something to offer.”

Details regarding Weaver’s announcement will appear in Sunday’s print edition of The News-Enterprise.
