SCHNIEDERS. Army Staff Sgt. Thomas R. Schnieders has been awarded the Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal for performing continued outstanding volunteer community service.

The medal was created to recognize exceptional community support over an extended period of time, instead of recognizing a single act or event.

Schnieders, a military police platoon sergeant, is assigned to U.S. Army NATO Battalion, Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe in Mons, Belgium.
