Mill Creek Baptist Church in Radcliff will have a “Thank God, America” service at 10:45 a.m. Sunday with special patriotic music and recognition of local dignitaries.
Soldiers, both active duty and retired, will be recognized. Military service personnel are encouraged to wear their uniforms. Guest speaker will be Chaplain Jim Boyle from the Warrior Transition Unit at Fort Knox. A graduate of LeTourneau University, Boyle enlisted in the Army in 1975. In 1977 he was chosen as the 82nd Airborne Division Trooper of the Year and the XVIII Airborne Corps Soldier of the Year. He graduated with honors from Officers Candidate School in 1978, attended Western Seminary in 1984 and the Chaplain Officers Basic Course in 1988. Boyle’s awards include the Expert Infantryman’s Badge, Ranger Tab, Special Forces Tab and German Jordanian, Kenyan and Russian (twice) Parachutist Badges. After 10 years of retirement, Boyle was recalled to active duty in 2008 to serve with the Warrior Transition Battalion at Fort Knox. The community is invited to the service at 1182 Jones St., Radcliff. Child care will be provided.
