A Fort Knox soldier who was reported missing Saturday has been found, officials say.

Sean Monahan, 25, of Radcliff was found Wednesday by Clarksville, Ind. police, said Ryan Brus of the Fort Knox Public Affairs Office.

Monahan was treated and released from University Hospital in Louisville the same day and is now receiving medical care at another area health care facility, Brus said.

“He is safe and his condition is good,” he said.

Monahan is assigned to the Warrior Transition Battalion unit at Fort Knox. Originally from Greensburg, Pa., Monahan has been in the Army since January 2009. He never has deployed.

The unit reported him AWOL on Monday, but the status was lifted Wednesday, Brus said.
