Missing woman found dead in LaRue Co.

A search and rescue effort ended Sunday afternoon in LaRue County when emergency personnel found a missing women dead.

LaRue County Fire Chief Jason Sadler said the woman and a man were riding a four-wheeler at Otter Creek near Wayne Ennis Road when they lost control in a flash flood.

The water swept the four-wheeler away, he said, and the woman disappeared. The man was not injured, Sadler said.

Emergency responders were contacted at 11:57 p.m. Saturday, Sadler said. Buffalo Fire Department led the search with assistance from LaRue County Fire Department, Magnolia Fire Department and search and rescue teams from Nelson and Taylor counties.

According to Sadler, 55 personnel participated in the search.

Officials have not released the woman's identity pending notification of family.
