MOAA white elephant auction a success

-A A +A

The Fort Knox Chapter of the Military Officers Association of America held its monthly meeting Jan. 16 at the MOAA Clubhouse on Fort Knox.

The entertainment was the annual white elephant auction. The auction is based on the old saying that “Somebody’s trash is someone else’s treasure.” Auctioneer Al March organized and conducted the auction. He was ably assisted by Dick Ardisson, Bob Kilmer and Mark Kelly, who kept the items moving and members bidding. As a result, the auction was a total success and the Chapter realized a significant amount that will be used for service programs such as scholarships and troop support.

The Chapter will hold its next meeting at 6 p.m. Feb. 20, at the clubhouse in building 2377 on Fort Knox. MOAA always is looking for new members who support troops in need, award student scholarships and provide service to others. Membership is open to officers and former officers of all services. For information, call Larry Herzog, 351-6433, or the chapter office, (502) 626-4090 and leave a message.
