Moore addresses Hardin County GOP

26th District Representative Tim Moore spoke to members of the Hardin County GOP Executive Committee at their regular monthly meeting on Jan. 12. Moore discussed the upcoming legislative session, emphasizing that he encourages constituents in the 26th District to contact him regarding any matters they wish to address about the 2009 legislative session.

Donna Betson, a member of the Vine Grove City Council, briefed members about a new group she has formed called the Kentucky Patriots. Volunteers of the new group will attend veterans’ funerals held the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery -Central in Radcliff with an emphasis on volunteer members attending funerals of indigent veterans who have no family in the area to attend the funeral. Hardin County GOP Chairman Bill Betson led a discussion about the upcoming Hardin County Lincoln Day Dinner that will be held at the State Theatre Conference Room on Feb. 21. The keynote speaker for the event will be Senator Jim Bunning. Cost of the dinner is $35 per person and a discounted cost of $30 will be given for those purchasing tickets prior to Feb. 13. The Hardin County Lincoln Day Dinner is an annual event hosted by the Hardin County GOP Executive Committee and recognizes its Republican roots with Abraham Lincoln. The following new members were elected to serve on the Hardin County GOP Executive Committee: Elizabethtown residents David Phillips, Donna Phillips, and Harry Braxton; Glendale residents Joan Hill, Anthony Henderson, Jimmy Tennison and Daniel Tennison; and Vine Grove resident David Lombardi.
