A local woman who lost her son to cancer is working to raise money to ensure other families can avoid similar losses.
Cheryl Alonso, who along with her husband co-founded the Isaiah Alonso Foundation, will travel Sept. 21 to Washington D.C., to shave her head as part of a fundraising effort for St. Baldrick’s Foundation, which funds childhood cancer research.
