Ret. Col. Dale Stewart, senior vice-commander of the Fort Knox MOWW Chapter, presented the MOWW award to Cadet James Murton, left, from Western Kentucky University and the MOAA award to Cadet Timothy Cassidy, center, from the University of South Florida, upon their graduation from the ROTC Leader’s Training Course. The Military Order of the World Wars (MOWW) and the Military Officers Association of America (MOAA) continued to recognize cadet outstanding achievement by participating in the Fort Knox ROTC Leaders Training Course (LTC) graduation ceremonies July 13 at Sadowski Field House on Fort Knox. The LTC is conducted only at Fort Knox for students who elect to enter the Senior ROTC program in their junior year. The MOWW Medal, ribbon and certificate was presented to one cadet in each company for consistent excellence in leadership and whose achievements are in the honored tradition of the Army. MOWW also presents these awards to 17 high school JROTC Units in Kentucky, three American High Schools in Korea and Western Kentucky University. The MOAA medal, ribbon and certificate was presented to one cadet in each company for demonstrating exceptional leadership and performance. MOAA also presents this award to six high school units in the surrounding area.
