Davis found not guilty of criminal abuse

A Hardin County jury ended more than 10 hours of deliberation Friday night with a mistrial in the murder case against Jarrod Davis of Radcliff. Davis was charged with murder in the death of his 1-month-old son, Ja'Vion Davis, earlier this year.

He was found not guilty of first-degree criminal abuse. The answer to the charges were returned just after 11 p.m. Friday.

Davis said after changing his son’s diaper and feeding him, he was burping Ja’Vion when he reached for a television remote while holding the baby. Ja’Vion jerked, he said, causing Davis to drop the infant.

The defendant said he dropped his son and did nothing more during Thursday's testimony.
