Music students perform spring recital

Students at the Music and Arts Center for Cultural Learning in Elizabethtown recently performed in the center’s spring recital.


Piano student Ayla Hawkins, 3, played Beethoven’s “Ode to Joy,” a boogie medley. She has qualified for the Central Kentucky Music Teacher Association competition in Campbellsville in November.

Isaac Morgan, also a 3-year-old piano student, played “Heart and Soul” with teacher Carina Tiotuico. He also qualified for the Campbellsville competition.

Kaiden Morgan, 4, played “Coffee House Boogie,” by Randal Faber. he qualified to compete in a state competition in October.

Risa Tomioka sang “Titanium” by David Guetta. The 13-year-old plans to try out for “American Idol” and is qualified for a voice competition at Morehead State University.

Seira Tamioka, 9, played the violin, accompanied by JB Tiotuico. They played Bach’s “Bourree Allegro Moderato” in two movements. JB learned the music in two days and the pair played amazingly even though they didn’t rehearse.

Natalie Rogers played “Remembering,” a song she composed. She was accompanied by JB Tiotuico.

Cameron Bryan played “Cristofori’s Dream” by David Lantz on the piano. Nathan Culbreath played a jazz version of “Kumbaya.”
