NARFE gives thanks at quarterly meeting

Chapter 1050 of the National Active and Retired Federal Employees met recently for their quarterly potluck dinner meeting. President Kay Bennett opened the meeting so more than 50 members and guests could enjoy a Thanksgiving feast.

Guest Mike Mitchell, vice president of the Kentucky federation, told the membership that the April 2014 State meeting will be in Bowling Green.

Guest Omar Rogers Sr., vice president of district two, installed the new officers for 2013-15.

Prize winners were Gary Kempf, Carlo Triplett and Nancy Kempf.

The next regular NARFE meeting is at 11 a.m., Jan. 7 at NOLIN RECC. Ret. Col. Mike Weaver will present a program on the renovation of a World War II barracks at Fort Knox. The service center will be open from 9 to 11 a.m. prior to the meeting. For more information contact Mary Tom Haun, 862-9357.
